EUPHEMY

The term “euphemy” exists to nominalize euphemisms that have become so deeply entrenched in their benign state to the point that, for some, they are dissociated from that which they have been euphemed from. The identity of the euphemism takes on a new life of its own. "Karen" has become a euphemism for a white woman, but less directly, it has become a euphemism for white supremacy.
